You ask: "How do you come up with fabulous recipes each and every week?"
Sticky Fingers Cooking answers: "We are so glad that you asked us! After 4 years of teaching cooking to children we have a tried a true formula that works!, We have discovered that the best way for us to introduce our instructors and for our instructors to get to know the kids the first day of class, is to start with a simple (sweet!) healthy and fun recipe that the kids love to do.
It could be melted dark chocolate fondue and dipped sweet potato chips; topped with coconut, dried fruits, seeds and sprinkles. It could be beet+cocoa muffins! Or lemon+ricotta pancakes! We have found that when we start off a class with a recipe like asparagus bread pudding with a massaged kale salad (Yes, Sticky Fingers kid chefs make AND eat this!) the kids may get a bit turned off after the very 1st class. After the 3rd class they will be cooking and eating everything under the sun with gusto!
Cooking is such a wonderful thing to do with kids and we believe they need to feel familiar and safe with trying new foods. We put a lot of thought, research and fun into each and every recipe! We also have a Ph.D. Child Psychologist on our of wonderful team along with nutritionists and a resident Food Geek who help us write our recipes and curriculum. " (Whoa! We are so very passionate about what we do and tend to be long winded about it!)
Now is the time to let your child release their inner chef!
Below are all of the healthy, nutritious, yummy and fun recipes the kids cooked at their Sticky Fingers Class for you to enjoy in your home with your newest young chef. Let them show off their new knowledge of all of the ingredients and let them flaunt their new cooking skills while practicing kitchen safety and continuing to gaining more and more confidence in your kitchen. Progressively, your child will build upon skills learned from previous classes and by the end if the session, they will have acquired a repertoire of talent to help you at home!
HAVE FUN! You may never have to cook again. (Yeah - right!)
WARNING: YOUR CHILD MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SAID IN CLASS THAT THEY CAN NOW COOK BETTER THAN YOU CAN. BOSSING AROUND OF PARENTS IN THE KITCHEN MAY OCCUR. HUMOR THEM.
